Ken Sutherland is Andrew W. Mellon Director of Scientific Research in the Department of Conservation and Science at the Art Institute of Chicago, where his main research interests concern the characterization of organic materials in works of art, using mass spectrometric and other analytical techniques, to inform an understanding of their technique, condition and appearance.
